Playing catch-up ... part I

I had no idea it had been a month since I last blogged! We've been busy, busy, busy in K5, and it shows no signs of slowing down until May 24! (When I mentioned to the students that we were in the home stretch and put a special "last day" sticker on the calendar so they could see, I was met with real tears! They don't want school to be over!)  I have so much catching up to do here that I'm just going to post a bunch of photos, with minimal explanation.

It's sometimes hard to get kids excited about sight words -- after all, it's basically just memorization. We spiced things up by "writing" sight words in play-doh!

We learned all about magnets and had fun testing different things in the classroom.

Feeling the resistance when like poles were placed together was especially cool!

Mrs. Viall got a new phone and had fun playing with the camera's portrait mode. 😍

In Bible, we learned how Jesus called His followers to "fish for people," and we did a little fishing of our own.

We tried our hand at separating colors. It didn't work quite as well as we hoped, but it was pretty cool nonetheless.

See the black separated into greens and blues?

For St. Patrick's Day, we fork-painted leprechaun hair and beards and did some Irish dancing!

And finally (for now), we grew real crystals overnight!

To be continued ...
